WLCF small grant awarded to Marie Curie
  • Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation donate £2,500 to Marie Curie.
  • Donation will support facilities upgrade to the Marie Curie Hospice, West Midlands.

Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation, the past players network of Wasps, men and women, amateur and professional announced today that they have issued a small grant award of £2,500 to the terminal illness charity, Marie Curie.

Marie Curie helps people and their families living with a terminal illness make the most of the time they have together by delivering free, expert care, emotional support and advice.

The £2,500 donation award will fund a much needed facilities upgrade to ensure the highest standards of infection control are maintained as expected at all Marie Curie Hospices. The sluice room, where higher risk waste is processed, requires a new frame and inward opening door to minimise the risk of infection and cross contamination. This will further protect patients, staff, volunteers and visitors from associated risks.

Kimberley Blanc, Major Gifts Manager at Marie Curie, said: "We are very grateful to have received a donation from the Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation towards this work at our hospice. The help of our supporters is crucial in making sure the hospices are of the highest standard, so that we are able to continue to provide high-quality end of life care to patients and their loved ones.
