Wasps Legends donate £2,500 to the Ambition, Aspire, Achieve.
Donation will support the monthly Disco Social Evenings for young people between 13 and 18 with disabilities and/or additional needs.
Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation, the past players network of Wasps, men and women, amateur and professional announced today that they have issued a small grant award of £2,500 to the Ambition, Aspire, Achieve.
Ambition, Aspire, Achieve was founded in June 2016 “to make a difference” and the prime purpose is to offer new opportunities to disadvantaged, vulnerable and/or at risk young people, who are not involved in programmes or activities, to overcome their problems and follow pathways to sustained future positive outcomes for themselves and their own future families.
The small grant will be used to support monthly Disco social evenings for young people between 13 and 18 with disabilities and/or additional needs. By using the grant to purchase their own disco equipment, the charity will be able to save money throughout the year and redirect the savings to offer rolling training (including accredited opportunities) to young people in DJ skills and associated music technology generally.
Genevieve Glover, Chair of Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation said of the announcement: “We are very pleased to be supporting Ambition, Aspire, Achieve to provide opportunities for young people to participate in structured leisure opportunities within a safe, stimulating and enabling environment, which will help to build their personal confidence, esteem and resilience. This will help them build new friendships and have a positive impact on their personal, social and educational lives.”
Kevin Jenkins of Ambition, Aspire, Achieve added: “The Wasps Legend Support will help us greatly in make a real positive and sustainable difference for the most vulnerable children, which in turn will help them to achieve more in all aspects of their future lives”.
