Harvey Biljon Testimonial Launch

The Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation were delighted to support former Wasps scrum half Harvey Biljon for the launch of his testimonial year. We sent a star studded team over to the beautiful island of Jersey for the weekend of the 1st July 2023 which included former players such as Simon Shaw MBE, Joe Simpson, Richard Birkett, Peter Scrivener, Paul Sampson, Guy Thompson, Ben Gotting, Lewis Gunn, Jonny Barrett, Ali McKenzie, Paul Volley and many more.
The Legends joined corporate guests on the Friday evening for an incredible dinner in the Jersey Reds clubhouse sponsored by Santander International and hosted by Peter Scrivener. He was joined for a Q and A by Harvey, Simon Shaw MBE and Bobby Skinstad whilst raising money for Harvey’s chosen charities My Name'5 Doddie, MNDA Jersey and the Wasps Legends Charitable Foundation.
The following day Wasps Legends XV faced a Channel Islands XV made up from players from Jersey and Guernsey. It was played in an incredible spirit with the Wasps Legends winning 88 -19 with some great tries from Joe Simpson, Paul Sampson, Jonny Barrett, Richard Parker to name a few showboaters!
We had one special guest Martin White who bid to play with the Legends at Paul Rendall’s Lunch and he kicked off for us which was wonderful to see. Martin (78 yrs old) has been a fan since his father took him to watch Wasps at the age of 3 and has supported us ever since. He said ”” The Wasps players took me under their wing and looked after me above and beyond, the fun and fellowship was tremendous. I will never forget the experience and now I will be forever a Wasps Legend as I kicked off in both halves wearing that famous shirt. I’m truly honoured to be part of such a special group!”
Paul Volley said “It was a great honour to come over to Jersey to support Harvey and despite a few injuries and some very sore bodies the next day, we all had a fantastic time. Huge thanks to all the sponsors who made this possible and we wish Harvey all the best for the rest of his testimonial year.”
Harvey Biljon said “This was a unique way to launch my testimonial and I’m so glad I could call upon my former teammates to put on such a great spectacle for all the fans that came to support the event. I’m delighted to support the charities I have chosen as they all have a very special meaning to me”.
